Terre Haute Man Now Facing Murder Charge

A Terre Haute man who said he shot and killed another person in self-defense is now charged with murder.
22-year-old Tristin Spencer appeared in court Wednesday morning.

Spencer was originally charged with voluntary manslaughter, but further investigation led prosecutors to charge him with murder.

His trial is set for March.

42-year-old Robert James Archer was shot and killed November 30th at the International Village Apartments on the south side of Terre Haute.

If found guilty, Spencer could face 45 to 65 years in prison.
