Indiana’s Overdose Deaths Increase 28% from 2016 to 2017

Indiana’s overdose deaths increased by 28 percent year over year, according to data released by the Centers for Disease Control.

Between July 2015-July 2016, 1,383 people in Indiana died from an overdose.

During the next 12-month period, 1,767 people died of an overdose.

Only six states and Washington D.C. had larger percentage increases than Indiana: Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
