Knox Co. Council Approves Law Enforcement Agreement with Bicknell

The Knox County Council voted 5-1 last night to approve an interlocal agreement with the city of Bicknell under which the Knox County Sheriff’s Office would assist the Bicknell Police Department due to a staffing shortage.

David Culp was the only Councilman to vote against the move.

Council president Bob Lechner abstained from voting.

Both men cited widespread opposition from Bicknell residents.

Both the Bicknell City Council and the Knox County Commissioners have already approved the agreement.
