The Knox and Daviess County Community Foundations will hold a matching gift programs for both foundations on Tuesday. The effort is designed to building permanent endowments for groups serving one or both counties.
The two groups will match gifts dollar for dollar, up to a set amount. In Knox County, the amount is 40-thousand dollars; the match cap is 25-thousand dollars in Daviess County. The matching donations may be given in person at the Foundation offices at in the Old National Bank Building on Third Street in Vincennes, and 320 Main Street in Washington. The event is designed to make tomorrow’s “Giving Tuesday” a kickoff of the charitable Christmas giving season.
New Foundation funds are also being started in both counties. Any restricted or non-restricted fund can be started with a five-thousand dollar seed donation. Right now, the Daviess County Community Foundation has 44 endowed funds, while Knox County has 39 of those funds.
