A closed-door Republican caucus has named Todd Huston as the next Speaker of the Indiana House. Huston will replace Brian Bosma; the current Speaker plans to retire a few days before the close of next year’s Legislative session. Huston credits Bosma for a open, bi-partisan culture in his time as Speaker.
Huston will move to the Speakership from his co-chairman position on the Indiana House Ways and Means Committee. Both Huston and State Senate president pro-tem Rod Bray agree health care costs, and rising energy prices, will be a major focus of the 2020 short Legislative session.
