The federal government has executed a woman on death row for the first time in nearly 70 years.
Lisa Montgomery was put to death early Wednesday morning for the murder of a pregnant woman, whose unborn child she then stole.
The 52-year-old was the only woman on federal death row in America.
Her execution by lethal injection was the eleventh since the Trump Administration resumed federal executions after a 17-year pause.
