The Sullivan Police Department has a new home.
The city recently relocated the department to 101 North Main Street in Downtown Sullivan.
The new building was formerly Crowder Insurance, Sullivan County Credit Union, and most recently Apex Christian Alliance.
City Officials say they believe the professional atmosphere, in addition to other improvements to the department, will assist with employee retention and a greater emphasis on the safety of citizens.
Mayor Clint Lamb says police officers are receiving a $6,000 annual pay increase, new equipment and vehicles, as well as access to a fitness center that will be housed in City Hall.
Meanwhile city officials are in the process of relocating the City Hall to 110 North Main Street this coming year once renovations are completed.
The new municipal offices will be across the street from the new police department and just south of Sullivan Central Plaza.
