A more than one-billion-dollar jackpot has been claimed, but we may never know who won it.
That’s because the Illinois Lottery says the winners who are splitting the prize “wish to remain anonymous.”
They won the one-point-three-four-billion-dollar jackpot in late July after stopping at a store in the Chicago area.
Lottery officials said they took the lump sum payment of 780-million dollars.
The winners can remain anonymous in Illinois because the prize is worth more than a quarter-million dollars.
