Driver Arrested After Fleeing Pike County Sheriff’s Deputy

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office says the driver of a car who sped away from a traffic stop near Petersburg Wednesday night was finally apprehended near the Troy Road and Highland Avenue intersection in Daviess County.

That’s where 24-year-old Cameron Gregory collided with two Pike County patrol vehicles.

Gregory got out of his vehicle and ran, but was captured a short distance away.

Earlier, stop sticks were used to slow down the high-speed chase which reached speeds of up to 100 miles an hour.

Gregory is being held in the Pike County Jail on preliminary charges of Reckless Driving, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Resisting Law Enforcement and Possession Of Marijuana.

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Petersburg Police, Washington Police, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police.
