The pilot of a TBM Avenger, a World War 2-era aircraft, is hospitalized in Indianapolis after his plane crash while landing Thursday afternoon at Terre Haute Regional Airport.

A passenger suffered only minor injuries.

The pilot was flying in formation with two other vintage aircraft from the Cincinnati area.

The flight plan included a stop in Terre Haute to meet fellow participants before proceeding to the TBM Reunion in Peru, Indiana.

The other two aircraft landed safely, one at Terre Haute Regional and the other at the Sullivan County Airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration has arrived on site and is leading the ongoing investigation.
