The Indiana State Comptroller’s Office is warning Hoosiers about a misleading mail scam.
Comptroller Elise Nieshalla says letters falsely claiming to be from her office are being sent to residents and businesses, asking for immediate action or payment.
The Comptroller stresses that her office never requests personal payments by mail.
If you receive suspicious mail, do not respond or send money.
Instead, contact the Comptroller’s office directly at 317-232-3300 to verify.
