Indiana State Police say a Hazleton man is facing charges for driving while impaired and Neglect of a Dependent with his 4-year- old daughter and 6-year-old son in the vehicle.
27-year-old Jaret VanPatten was pulled over Tuesday night on US 41 near Gray Barn Road in Knox County for speeding and for nearly striking two other vehicles.
VanPatten was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes where officers continued their investigation and determined VanPatten was impaired.
While at the hospital, VanPatten was also arrested for disorderly conduct.
Toxicology is pending.
VanPatten’s two children were released to a relative.
