Work Release Sentence Revoked for Vincennes Man

By John Szink Feb 24, 2026 | 9:22 AM

A Vincennes man will serve the rest of a Reckless Homicide sentence in prison, following a hearing this week in Knox Circuit Court.

20-year-old George Smith was sentenced to work release in April of 2024.

He had earlier admitted to a shooting that left 18-year-old Hunter Ravellette dead.

During a hearing Monday, the Knox County Prosecutor’s office claimed Smith had violated both work-release and probation rules and introduced video and witness evidence to prove its claim.

Judge Monica Gilmore agreed with the prosecution and ordered Smith to serve the remainder of his sentence in the Indiana Department of Correction.
