Roads Open After November’s Building Collapse in Winslow

By John Szink Feb 27, 2026 | 11:00 AM

Roads are open again after the collapse of the Palace Lodge in Winslow four months ago blocked traffic.

The building, one of Winslow’s oldest, left debris across streets.

The owners couldn’t clear it, so the town hired a company to demolish the front and move the rubble onto the sidewalk.

The project cost about $6,000, which will be billed to the owners.

Officials say reopening the roads will help local businesses and ease traffic on side streets.
