The area is mourning the passing of a longtime on-air voice of Vincennes radio station, and our sister station, WZDM.
Former WZDM Morning Show host Ed Ballinger passed away at an Indianapolis hospital on Wednesday.
Ed was the afternoon announcer for WZDM in the late 1990’s and then moved to the morning show following the death of Dave Young.
He also took Young’s place as play-by-play announcer for the Vincennes Lincoln Alices following Young’s passing.
Since the late 1990’s, Ed had been the play-by-play voice for Vincennes Rivet High School basketball.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
He is survived by his wife Jill, and his grown children Nathan and Jensen.
