Study says Pike Co. has Eighth-Highest Risk for Severe Depression in the U.S

Pike County has the eighth-highest risk for severe depression in the U.S., with Orange, Carroll, and Decatur counties also ranking in the top 50 nationwide.

Research suggests these higher rates in the state are fueled by a lack of mental health specialists and limited insurance coverage compared to more metropolitan areas.
