Indiana utility bills are rising, prompting state regulators to urge providers to do more for households.

On Tuesday, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission met with the state’s five largest investor-owned utilities to discuss costs, existing relief efforts, and immediate support for residents.

Utilities offer programs like energy assessments and off-peak discounts, but regulators seek more direct help for ratepayers.

The commission wants large customers to cover their own infrastructure upgrades.

Ten listening sessions across Indiana through April 22nd will gather resident feedback on high bills, aiming to balance infrastructure investments with urgent relief for families.
