Officials with the Vincennes Animal Shelter are expressing how grateful they are for the outpouring of support from the community following a recent dog hoarding case in Gibson County.

14 dogs were surrendered and the Vincennes shelter accepted 10 of them.

Every single one of the dogs is in extremely poor health and requires urgent, extensive medical treatment.

Many people have asked how they can help.

Monetary donations can be made in person at the shelter by cash, check, or card, by phone at 812-882-8826, or by mailing a check to 11-28 River Road in Vincennes.

The shelter also welcomes donations of good quality small-breed dog food, cleaning supplies, blankets, treats, and other much-needed items, which may be dropped off during regular business hours.
