Residents are still dealing with the fallout from a mine collapse under a Chandler neighborhood on March 1st, eight months later.
Single mother Sydnie White spent $12,000 trying to repair her home, but the house was later foreclosed.
She now lives with a friend and says city officials failed to provide needed support, even after her home showed signs of being unsafe.
Brian Lucas, another affected resident, paid most repair costs himself, relying on limited state aid.
He credits family and neighbors for helping him get by.
Chandler Presbyterian Church organized a fundraiser for White and her children, which she calls “heaven-sent” support that kept her moving forward.
