At the request of the Sullivan County Prosecutor, Indiana State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting early Tuesday morning in Sullivan.
It happened around 1:50 a.m. at 615 South Bell Street.
Sullivan Police and Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the address concerning a possible domestic situation.
Upon their arrival, they found an injured woman and 31-year-old Kylan Holbert running toward them armed with a knife.
An officer shot Holbert after he refused orders to drop the weapon.
Holbert was taken to a Terre Haute Hospital and then airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment.
The woman, who received non-life-threatening injuries, refused medical treatment at Sullivan County Community Hospital.
