The Knox County Sheriff’s Office warns residents of a scam in which callers falsely claim missed jury duty and threaten arrest unless immediate payment is made.
These calls may appear legitimate due to caller ID spoofing.
The Sheriff’s Office says it will never request payment over the phone and that official court matters are handled through written communication, not unsolicited calls.
