The dredging of Sullivan Lake in Sullivan is underway and is expected to take several years to complete.
The work is being done in phases because of the size of the project and limits on funding.
Grants from the Department of Natural Resources and local fundraising help support the work, including a lake maintenance fee surcharge.
Phase one wrapped up in fall 2025, and phase two is scheduled to start in the fall of this year.
The phased approach means changes won’t be immediately visible, but over time it will improve fish habitats, support more wildlife, and increase bird activity.
The improvements will help maintain the lake as an important part of Sullivan’s local economy and community.
