Oakland City University announced Tuesday that it is suspending the undergraduate program for the 2026-27 academic year.
The university’s online graduate programs will continue to operate during this time.
In addition, the University will continue efforts to sell its carbon capture patent, with the hope of reopening once those efforts are successful.
Oakland City University’s final day for now will be May 31st.
Over 100 university employees have gone ten days without being paid.
They have been told several times that their paycheck is about to arrive, but the university says banking issues are keeping the pay in limbo.
Employees are due to be paid again this coming Friday.
Some workers have stopped working until they get paid, and the university says that is understandable.
