Traffic Stop Leads to Dealing Arrests and Large Seizure of More Than a Pound of Meth

Lawrence County, Indiana Sheriff’s deputies arrested two people and seized more than a pound of methamphetamine Wednesday night during a traffic stop on State Road 450 West of Bedford.

After suspecting criminal activity, the department’s K-9 was brought in and alerted deputies to the presence of illegal drugs in the vehicle.

During a probable cause search of the vehicle, deputies found hypodermic syringes, drug paraphernalia, and just over one pound of methamphetamine.

The driver, 47-year-old Crystal Travis of Bedford, and her passenger, 60-year-old Thomas Mitchell of California, were arrested for Dealing in Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine over 28 Grams, Possession of Hypodermic Syringes, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
