The National Weather Service has confirmed at least 13 tornadoes from the severe storms that moved through the Tri-State on Sunday night, with survey teams continuing to assess damage across the region.
So far, investigators have identified two EF-1 tornadoes in Wayne County, Illinois; six tornadoes in Warrick County, including four EF-1s and two EF-0s; and two tornadoes in Gibson County, including an EF-2 near Fort Branch and an EF-1 near Mackey.
Additional tornadoes were confirmed in Dale, Grandview and near Hawesville, Kentucky.
The strongest tornado touched down near Fort Branch, where winds reached about 115 mph and the storm stayed on the ground for roughly 11 1/2 miles.
