Indiana’s Jobless Rate Holds Steady in July

The Department of Workforce Development reports Indiana’s unemployment rate held steady at 3.3% in July, remaining well below the national rate of 4.1%.

The state’s labor force participation rate reached 63.1%, outperforming the national average of 61.4% with nearly 3.5 million Hoosiers working or actively seeking employment.

While total private employment dipped by 4,900 jobs to roughly 2.8 million, key sectors including construction, health services, and trade saw modest gains.

Indiana currently reports over 101,000 open job postings statewide.
