Motorists Urged to Use Caution as Harvest Season Approaches

As fall approaches, harvest season will soon be in full swing.

That means more tractors, combines, grain carts and other farm equipment on our county roads and highways.

Knox County Emergency Management Director John Streeter reminds drivers these machines are large, slow-moving, and need extra room to safely navigate narrow roads, bridges, intersections and turns.

Drivers should slow down, be patient, and remember to watch for slow-moving farm equipment, avoid passing on hills, curves, or near intersections, and be especially alert during early morning and evening hours.
