A former Indianapolis teacher will spend two years in prison for recording a fight involving students with disabilities.
Julious Johnican was sentenced Thursday to 730 days in the Indiana Department of Correction. He pleaded guilty in August to felony neglect of a dependent.
The case goes back to 2023, when Johnican worked at George Washington Carver Montessori IPS School.
The family of a special needs student accused Johnican of recording another student attacking their child.
His voice can be heard on the video encouraging the beating, according to the case.
The family later filed a civil lawsuit.
