The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office says a Posey County girl died Saturday when a westbound SUV crossed the grass median of Interstate 64 and struck an eastbound pickup truck head on.
8-year-old Isabelle Preske of Cynthiana died at the scene prior to the arrival of emergency service personnel.
Preske was a passenger in an SUV driven by her mother Samantha Payne, also from Cynthiana.
Samantha Payne was transported to an Evansville area hospital for treatment.
Two men from West Virginia were also hospitalized.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
