The next Urban Enterprise Association Board meeting has been postponed for at least 30 days.
A determination will be made at least a week prior to that date as to when the next UEA Board meeting will be scheduled.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the annual city-wide Way of the Cross has been cancelled. There are preliminary plans to livestream something in its place, but nothing has been decided concretely.
The May 6th primary election has been postponed until Tuesday, June 2nd. With the postponement of the Primary election, other deadlines will also be adjusted. The deadline to return an absentee ballot request looks to be extended to May 21st. The voter registration period should now continue until May 4th. Early voting should begin on May 6th, but the exact schedule will not be set until next Wednesday. In order to accommodate voter concerns, the requirement for having a permissible reason to request a ballot by mail has been waived for the 2020 Primary, only.

With the postponement of this year’s primary election to June 2nd, other election related deadlines are also extended. People will now have until May 4th to register to vote in the primary. The easiest way to register, or check your registration, is by visiting www.indianavoters.com.
If you want to vote absentee by mail, the restrictions have been lifted for this primary only. Simply call the Knox County Clerks office at 812 895-4927 to request an absentee ballot application. Registered voters have until May 21st to return an absentee ballot application to the clerks office.
Please note that election related materials will still indicate the May 5th primary election date, but they will still be considered current and valid by the State of Indiana.
Also, as this current state of emergency remains in effect, the need may arise to relocate, or combine voting locations for Election Day. Affected voters of such a move or combination of voting locations will be contacted via telephone utilizing the CodeRed system.
The Pregnancy Care center of Washington’s Gift of Life banquet scheduled for April 16th, 2020 has been postponed until July 23rd, 2020. The banquet will still be held at the Simon Graber Complex. Doors will open at 5:30 with the banquet starting at 6:30.
All services, programs, and events scheduled to take place at First Baptist Church in Vincennes have been cancelled until April 5th. For more information, feel free to contact Gary at 887-9501.
The Knox County Development Corporation is adhering to the recommendations from Governor Holcomb and the CDC about large group gatherings and has cancelled our April 3rd and May 1st board meetings as well as the annual meeting that was set for May 13th. Our next board meeting is scheduled for June 5th.
Steve Beaman, Superintendent of the Vincennes Parks and Recreation Department announced this morning that restrooms and playground equipment in all city parks are closed until further notice due to Covid-19.
We encourage individuals and families to still use the outdoor spaces of the parks including the Vaughn Trail and the Riverwalk. We know people need to get outside – so take a walk, run or bike ride – just remember to continue practicing social distancing by remaining 6 feet away from other people.
The Washington City Household Hazardous Waste Facility remains open but closed to pedestrian traffic. The Facility will only accept Household Hazardous Waste drop offs on an emergency basis only. If you have an emergency, you can call 812-254-2792
Effective immediately, the Martin County Recycling Center will be reducing its hours. The Center will be open to the public on Tuesdays 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM and Saturday’s 8:00 AM until Noon until further notice.
Monroe City Alumni Banquet scheduled for 4/4/2020 has been cancelled. 2020 scholarships will be awarded at a later date.
Loaves & Fishes will serve meals again Friday, April 18, and Wednesday, April 23.

The Daviess County Economic Development Corporation will be postponing remaining job fairs scheduled for March 18 (Montgomery Ruritan Club) and March 26 (Odon Community Building) due to the continued health concerns regarding the COVID-19 outbreak.

-Old Town Players’ production of “Godspell”, scheduled to open April 17th, has been cancelled. Rehearsals and any and all preparations for this show are cancelled effective immediately. It is hoped that OTP will be able to present the show at a future date. At this time, “The Beverly Hillbillies” will be presented in June as scheduled unless future developments necessitate changes. Any pre-sale tickets purchased at our participating partners can be used for “The Beverly Hillbillies”. -All practices of Vincennes Cub League teams are suspended through Sunday April 5, 2020. All Vincennes Cub League facilities will be closed during this period. This time frame coincides with the recent closure of the local schools. The VCL board will reassess the situation in early April. Currently the 63rd consecutive season of Cub League Baseball is scheduled to begin with games on Saturday April 11th. Any decision on pushing back the game schedule will be made at a later date. Team drafts for the Rookie Leagues, Junior League and Senior League took place this week. Tee Ball teams will be organized on March 25th and Babe Ruth teams on March 30th. Buddy Ball registrations are underway and scheduled to open with a game on May 2nd.

Big Ten Tournament has been cancelled.
The NJCAA has canceled all spring sports competition and all upcoming basketball championships, effective immediately, due to the evolving COVID-19 situation. Spring competition includes all practices, regular season, postseason, and national championship play. Regarding eligibility for spring sports, no spring sport student-athlete who was enrolled at a member college in 2020 will be charged a year of participation. Along with the cancellation of competition, all on and off-campus recruiting for all sports will be halted until April 15 with further evaluation to be assessed at that point in time. The NJCAA will explore the opportunity to expand allowable Letters of Intent for spring sports for both the 2020-21 and 2021-22 academic years under the recommendation of the NJCAA Eligibility Committee.
