The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office says a Bloomington man is facing attempted murder and other charges after he drove a stolen truck into a man, pinning him against his vehicle.
It happened Saturday night at Candlewood Circle in southern Vigo County after the victim and his girlfriend pulled into a driveway.
The man who was pinned shot and struck his attacker who then fled on foot and stole another vehicle.
Following a pursuit which ended in Sullivan County, police arrested 35-year-old Dustin Roeker on charges of Attempted Murder, Criminal Recklessness, Resisting Law Enforcement and Vehicle Theft.
It was determined Roecker was under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
The man who was injured as well as Roeker were taken to the hospital for treatment of no life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say their initial investigation does not indicate any type of relationship or previous interactions between the victims and the suspect.
The investigation is ongoing.
