Gibson Co. Had State’s Lowest Jobless Rate in March

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says Gibson County had the state’s lowest jobless rate in March at 3.0%, seven tenths of a percent higher than March of 2023.

Daviess and Dubois Counties had unemployment rates of 3.1% in March.

That’s six tenths of a percent higher than the same time last year for Daviess County and four tenths of a percent higher for Dubois County.

Martin County’s March unemployment rate of 3.4% was four tenths of a percent higher than the same time last year.

Pike County’s unemployment rate for March was 3.6%, two tenths of a percent higher than last year.

Knox County’s jobless rate of 3.8% was eight tenths of a percent higher than March of 2023.

Both Sullivan and Greene Counties had unemployment rates of 5.0% in March.

For Sullivan County, that’s one-percent higher than the year before and eight tenths of a percent higher for Greene County.

The average jobless rate of Indiana’s 92 counties in March was 4.1%.
