Indiana’s sales tax on gasoline is set to increase by 6.1 cents per gallon in May if Governor Mike Braun does not extend the temporary suspension.

The Indiana Department of Revenue determines the tax amount monthly based on the statewide retail gas cost average.

The current rate of 17.2 cents per gallon will rise to 23.3 cents for May if the suspension is not extended.

Governor Braun will decide on the extension of the suspension by May 8th.
