An Indiana State Trooper arrested a Mexican national on drug and firearms charges in Daviess County Tuesday morning following a traffic stop for speeding on US 50 near Montgomery.
Police say 33-year-old Marco Antonio Ortiz Lopez had never received a driver’s license in the United States.
While searching Ortiz Lopez, the trooper found suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia.
During the inventory of the vehicle, a 25-caliber pistol was found.
Ortiz Lopez is being held in the Daviess County Security Center on preliminary charges of Possession of Methamphetamine with a Firearm,
Possession of a Firearm by an Alien, Operator Never Licensed, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
