The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says an 88-year-old Monroe City man died Tuesday morning in a collision involving a pick-up truck and a dump truck at the intersection of US 50 and Anson Road.
The driver of the pick-up, 88-year-old Martin Dreiman of Monroe City, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital and was pronounced dead after arrival.
The driver of the dump truck, 46-year-old Scotty Demoss of Solsberry, Indiana was taken to the hospital for precautionary evaluation.
The preliminary investigation shows Dreiman was southbound on Anson Road and failed to yield to the dump truck which was eastbound on US 50.
Both vehicles came to a rest in a ditch along the side of US 50.
While deputies were working on this accident, another crash occurred in the westbound lane of US 50 in the same area.
That accident involved only minor injuries and is being investigated by Indiana State Police.
