The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a one vehicle crash Friday night in the area of North Brocksmith Road.
The Driver, 31-year-old Brandon Garza, crashed into the yard of a residence and was thrown from the vehicle.
Garza suffered an ankle injury and severe road rash from being ejected from the vehicle.
He was flown to Deaconess Midtown in Evansville for treatment.
Authorities say deputies smelled a strong odor of alcohol on Garza’s breath.
However, Garza was unable to provide consent to a chemical test due to him being unconscious.
The sheriff’s office says a state blood draw kit was obtained for evidence.
