An Indiana State Trooper was injured Tuesday night when he and his patrol vehicle were struck by a northbound SUV on US 41 near Decker in southern Knox County.
The ISP says Master Trooper Brett Pool was standing outside of his patrol vehicle along the side of the highway at the time.
Trooper Pool was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the SUV, 33-year-old Anna Elkins of Vincennes, was not injured.
Police say alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing and no criminal charges have been filed.
Elkins was cited for Unsafe Lane Movement.
