Indiana Conservation Officers recovered the body of an Evansville man Saturday from a vehicle submerged in a retention pond behind the Boonville Walmart.
The victim was identified as 67-year-old Joseph Lucia Junior, reported missing July 7th.
A phone app showed his last known location near the pond.
A Warrick County Sheriff’s Department drone detected what appeared to be a vehicle in shallow water.
Fire department divers confirmed the submerged vehicle, which was later removed by tow truck.
Investigators are still determining how Lucia’s vehicle entered the pond, but foul play is not suspected.
