State employees will get a one-time bonus in their paycheck on July 29th.
Governor Mike Braun says the bonus is in place of an ongoing pay raise.
He says he has directed his cabinet secretaries and agency leadership teams to review operations, reduce unnecessary costs, and “run state government with a more business-minded approach.”
Braun says the bonuses will be up to 25-hundred dollars, depending on when people were hired.
Anyone hired before he took office on January 13th, 2025 will get the full amount, and anyone hired this year will not get a dime.
