It’s back to school next Wednesday, August 5th, for students in Washington Community Schools, Washington Catholic Schools, and the Barr Reeve School Corporation in Daviess County.
North Daviess students return on Wednesday, August 12th.
Drivers need to be on the lookout for school buses dropping off or picking up students and knowing when to stop.
If a school bus stops on a two-lane road, or on a multi-lane roadway, with no barrier between lanes, and the red flashing lights are activated, and the stop arm is extended, all motorists must stop.
However, on multi-lane roadways with a grassy and/or concrete barrier, only vehicles behind the bus must stop.
Vehicles approaching from the opposite side are not required to do so.
Also starting classes next Wednesday are MSD of Shakamak Schools, Eastern Greene Schools the Shoals Community School Corporation, Loogootee Community Schools, and North Knox Schools.
The Vincennes Community School Corporation, Vincennes Catholic Schools. and the South Knox School Corporation start classes on Thursday, August 6th.
