The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration says 82-thousand Hoosiers have lost Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits as a result of President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.”
The act took effect in October 2025 and nearly 13-thousand in the state lost SNAP between October and November and the number of people removed from the benefits peaked at 16-thousand in May.
FSSA officials can’t say how many people were removed for ineligibility or procedural mistakes like incomplete or missing paperwork.
Able-bodied adults have to prove they are working at least 80 hours a month or they will lose SNAP benefits.
