The Knox County Commissioners unanimously approved an economic development agreement Tuesday with Lucky Point Solar for a 140-megawatt solar facility in southern Knox County.
Work will begin in December of 2028, with completion in about a year.
The E-D-A will provide the plant a 75 percent tax abatement over ten years.
In return, Lucky Point Solar will make a four-million-dollar payment to the County in year one, and 5.8 million dollars in the years following.
One side of the facility will have a 300-foot setback while the other three sides will have a 500-foot setback.
