One person is dead following a head-on collision early Saturday morning on Interstate 64 in Gibson County.
The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office says it happened shortly after four-o-clock at the 29-mile marker.
Witness statements indicate a westbound SUV crossed the grass median and struck an eastbound pickup truck head on.
One person in the SUV died on scene before emergency service personnel arrived.
One other person from the SUV as well as two occupants from the pickup truck were transported to an Evansville area hospital for treatment of severe injuries.
No names are being released at this time.
