Indiana to Proceed with Weisheit Execution Despite Tennessee’s Failed Lethal Injection

Indiana prison officials plan to move forward with the November 5th execution of Jeffrey Weisheit, despite a failed lethal injection attempt in Tennessee.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee halted executions and ordered an independent review after officials failed to execute Christa Pike on Wednesday.

Her attorneys say she remained alive after two rounds of the lethal injection drug and is now receiving medical care.

Indiana uses the same drug, pentobarbital, and the Indiana Department of Correction says it remains confident in its execution procedures.
