31 Pets Rescued From “Deplorable” Home in Huntingburg

Animal rescue staff at the Dubois County Humane Society say they have rescued 25 dogs, five cats and one rabbit from “deplorable conditions” in an apartment in Huntingburg.

They say every room was covered in feces and urine and the animals were all extremely dehydrated.
Thirty-seven-year-old Dayron Pavon-Rodriguez and 34-year-old Yisel Correa were arrested on charges of animal cruelty and neglect.

DCHS executive director Jordan Wehr says the situation was “100-percent preventable.”
