The Indiana National Guard is deploying around 125 members from Plymouth to southern Texas for nearly the next year.
The Hoosiers will be part of Operation Arden Vanguard, which was launched in early 2025 to better secure the border with Mexico.
They will help Customs and Border Protection and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security “within narrowly defined authorities.”
The troops spent the last month training at Camp Atterbury in Edinburgh and will get more training at Fort Bliss in Texas.
