Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul is joining the Federal Trade Commission and 19 other states in a lawsuit against the Dollar General Corporation.
The suit accuses the discount chain of routinely charging customers more at the register than the prices displayed on shelves, price tags and advertisements.
The coalition claims Dollar General has received tens of thousands of complaints from consumers who say the company didn’t honor the advertised price, but the company failed to act.
