Governor Mike Braun says he is accepting the Parole Board’s unanimous recommendation to deny clemency for Jeffrey Weisheit.

The Indiana Department of Correction will continue preparations to carry out Weisheit’s court-ordered execution on November 5th.

Weisheit was sentenced to death for the 2010 murders of eight-year-old Alyssa and five-year-old Caleb Lynch.

The children’s mother had left them in his care at their home near Evansville while she was working an overnight shift in 2010 when Weisheit set the house on fire.
